My blog nazi, I mean my "conscience", gave me a beat down nudge to update this blog. Yeah, yeah. I'm not like some people who update their blog every ten minutes. Ahem.
So, this is for you - and you know who YOU are.

One more month away from the BIG ONE - literally!! Where did the past year go?? I have to admit when he was first born, time went so slow. Face it, infants are not easy, and Beckett was no exception. My mantra in the first few months was, "this too shall pass." Now that he's developed his personality and he's not so fragile, I'd like it to slow down a bit.
He's just starting to pull himself up on things - he gets one leg up and that's about it. I doubt he'll be walking by one, but that's okay. The baby proofing is really going to have to go into full effect once he is, so I'm fine with waiting a bit.
No words yet either, just a lot of growls, grunts and other odd noises. He makes the funniest sounds!! He also has this odd fascination with lights..he just stares at them. He may not even be human. I mean look at that Richard Simmons perm will you?? Admittedly that picture was taken right after a bath, when the curl was at an all time high. It usually "softens" a bit (thank goodness, that's a bit too tight for me!!).
For those of you who may be shopping early for the big first birthday bash, he's into designer hand bags (favors Coach) and he loves massages at the Wentworth Spa. Hey, I'm just trying to help!
Anyway, we love you, you grunty, curly mass of cuteness!!

(Don't mind the booger on his nose)
Ten Months! Just two more and we hit the big ONE! Well the little bugger is now into just about everything he can get his hands on (and his mouth on), although it’ll get worse. He sits on his knees and is just starting to attempt to pull himself up on things (once he does, enter “worse”). His second top tooth (his only two) finally broke through, so we will probably rename him Beaver. Beaver Casey. I think he's going to be a trouble-maker. In fact, it's starting already. His daycare teacher told me he and his "girlfriend" Fiona crawl off together looking to see what trouble they can get into. A real Casanova like his dad.
Speaking of his dad, the poor kid is looking more and more like his daddy’s baby pictures every day. If he turns out as good looking as his father, he'll be one lucky boy. Fiona doesn't stand a chance!

Wow, seriously didn't I just write a post about how Beckett turned eight months old? Why does time have to go so fast these days? If I could, I'd give Time a speeding ticket. "Listen Mister, you're doing 75 in a 15 mph zone. Slow down!!"
I guess it only makes sense I can't stop time since I can't stop Beckett these days. He's full-fledge crawling now (hands/knees) and is starting to move fast. If you want to find out how dirty your floors really are, put a nine-month old down for a few minutes. I call Beckett my human swiffer. He's also become full-fledge cute. When he's awake in his crib, he pulls his bumper down and waits...peeking out for a human to come rescue him. He also makes these crazy growling noises (I told you I had a crush on the Wolf Man from Clark's Trading Post) and funny faces (think gummy old man).
He also has this wild curly hair when he comes out of the tub or the humidity gets him (think YMCA pool) - if I slapped some Baby Phat on him he'd be the white Lil Bow Wow. Will keeps asking me when he's going to talk because, "it's taking a long time." Yet I'm still waiting for that first tooth!
Happy Nine Months Lil Bow Wow guy! We love you!

I'm late with this post due to sickness, but Beckett turned eight months on Friday! Eight months! Time flies! The little bugger does the "military crawl" but he does get on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth. He has found his genitals (always a good time). My sister said this is the age of "elation." Basically that means he's pretty much always happy. He has big smiles for his sisters and brother!
Happy Eight Months little guy! We love you!
P.S. Still no teeth!

In our state of illness these past few days, I almost forgot that Beckett is 7-months old today!! I swear, wasn't he just 6-months old? So little guy, Happy Seven Months! You are grabbing everything you can get your hands on, you pivot and "scooch" on your belly and you weigh almost 17 lbs! But still no tooth yet!! I've slowly introduced some cheerios and puffs to which you made the funniest face, and yet you went back for more (most of which never entered your mouth but stuck all over your clothes and high chair).
We Love You!

Beckett is six months old as of yesterday! Wow! Half a year has already gone by! We went for his six-month check up today. Here are his stats:
Weight: 15 lbs 1.5 oz
Height: 27.5"
He's 10th percentile for weight and 80th for height. His pediatrician said he's going to be a basketball player. As long as he plays for the Celtics...
He's into grabbing everything now and "talking" a lot. He also rolls both ways and lifts his head up high when he's on his stomach. Oh! And the best part? He's holding his own bottle!! It's fun to watch the progression of a child.
Happy Six Months Little Guy!! We love you!

Beckett is five months old today! He's really starting to become more and more alert to his surroundings, and his personality is really starting to develop. He's definitely "one of those" babies who likes be held all of the time, which really isn't much fun for us adults. Don't get me wrong - I don't mind holding him. Just not all the time. Although I must say, I’ve gotten pretty good at doing things with one arm. I guess it’s good preparation in case I lose an arm in a gator attack.
Ever since we brought Beckett home from the hospital, he has preferred to sleep on his stomach. It goes against everything the “professionals” tell you – the American Academy of Pediatrics has the “Back to Sleep” campaign. Well, the AAP wasn’t helping me out while my young infant wailed incessantly all night long. I understand their concern, but really, some babies like to only sleep on the stomachs. And some parents like to sleep. Therefore, I let Beckett sleep on his stomach. Now, don’t get me wrong, this isn’t to say that I wasn’t worried and didn’t check on him like 76 times each night – because I did. I just added it to my endless list of worries as a sleep-deprived mother…
Anyway, just recently Beckett has learned how to roll himself over in his crib. This gets him onto his back, and this makes him cranky. Think about what a turtle looks like on its back – that pretty much sums up Beckett. Not a happy turtle. Secretly I think it’s kinda funny, but I don’t think he would appreciate knowing that.
Eventually he’ll learn to turn himself back over, or learn to sleep on his back. Having to re-adjust him six times every night now is getting old…I hope eventually comes quickly…
Happy 5-months Beckett!! We love you!

Happy Four Months little guy! You were introduced to rice cereal and some carrots this week (you didn't quite know what to do with the new experience). You are giggly and talkative, and you've finally (at least I think) found your hands. I noticed your thumb in your mouth today for a few seconds...could we have another thumb sucker on our hands? No rolling from you yet, but you are definitely pushing yourself up when on your belly. You are getting cuter by the day!
Love,
Mommy

Beckett is three months old today! It's amazing how fast time flies by - in a blink he'll be one. Part of me wants it to go by fast (because, let's face it, babies are tough), but another part of me wants to cherish all this "baby-ness" because it's our last one (and b/c it goes by so fast). He's very alert now - smiling all the time, "talking" and pretty much sleeping through the night (one quick night feeding). In four weeks we'll start him on rice cereal!
*5/13 - He weighs 12 lbs., 4oz.!

Beckett only woke up once last night! I figured it was going to be a rough night considering the little blob was a crankasaurus right up until he fell asleep (which was a little before 10 pm). Thankfully he woke up around 1:30 am and after a quick feeding fell back asleep until 6 am!
Woo hoo!

A time honored K-Sea kid tradition was passed on today. Today marked the first Father-Beckett nap. Wendy took Will and Mina to see Joelle's play so I grabbed Beckett and laid down for a nap. To me there are few things better then a quick nap on a Saturday afternoon. I managed to grab a photo of the special moment... he even gave me a sleep smile. The best part of the nap is we have awaken to unsuspected beautiful weather.
