Yesterday I went skiing for the first time in 13 years. I took Marina, Will and Joelle along for the ride. For Marina and Will is was a first time event. We went to King Pine Ski Resort which is about 60 miles away. It is an outstanding resort and very family oriented (i.e. not a lot of yahoos)
When we arrived I enrolled Marina and Will in a lesson and Joelle and I hit the slopes. Thankfully it didn't take long to shake the rust off. I even managed to take some video of the event.
The first video is of Joelle. She is a much better skier than this video shows. I think she was confused by me zipping ahead so I could film her so she slowed down significantly.

The next video is of Will at Ski School. After every run I would check into see how he was doing. He appeared to be having a blast. As a bonus he lost his second tooth while in ski school.

After Marina's class we went to the top for her first ever run. I was honored to accompany her. We had a little mishap when we were getting off the chairlift. Marina didn't realize that she had to manually get off the chair until it was too late. By the time she decided to unload she was about 3 feet in the air and came crashing down on me. We lied down for a moment in a tangled mess and shared a laugh as they halted chairlift operations until we cleared the landing area. Good Times...

Overall the day was a success....I think...Do you have any idea how much it will cost to go skiing with a family of 6?
All of the kids came back saying what a great time they had. I'm so happy for Will and Mina!!
Like we've both said, this is good and bad. Good because the kids love it and it's such a "Maine" thing, bad b/c we may have to sell the house and live in a tent to afford it!!
