I am a fringe American Idol watcher. I like to watch when certain people sing but I really don't watch the whole series. Wendy is much more into than I am. One thing is certain neither of us watch the weekly results show. A lot of pomp and circumstance for a show that could last 30 seconds.
Last night of course was the BIG finale. After the Sox game I turned to my trusty Tivo and fast forwarded through 1 hour and 55 minutes of minutia to see the exciting and over drawn out out Ryan Seacrest announcement. Watch this video I took till the end.
Can you imagine the people who absolutely freaked out when they saw this? Perhaps they got home late are are watching it this morning. For me It would be like not knowing if in 2001 Adam Vinetieri's game winning kick went through the posts in the final 3 seconds.
Hysterical!

I see nothing.

I had the exact same thing happen to me because I was recording American Idol also. They did something to the show to cut it off to punish people that did not watch it live!
I tried to see the results on Americanidol.com but they had not posted the results yet! So, after watching the show faithfully all year I got rewarded with a cut version of American Idol and never saw the results. I went to bed not knowing who won.
