The WSJ had an article about the search for Americas Best Hot Dog. One of their fav's was this beauty from Speed's in Boston. The secret is the dog is marinated in apple cider and brown sugar then cooked over charcoal. Wendy is writing in protest of the WSJ's unforgivable omission of even a mention of Flo's Hot Dogs.

Another impressive win for the Celtics last night. They have now beaten every team in the NBA. The magic number to clinch home court advantage throughout the playoffs is 5.
I had a thought last night-scary I know-When the NBA held the draft lottery last year I watched with baited breath. I was sure they would land either the #1 or # 2 pick. When the dust had settled they had #5. I was devastated . I remember telling Wendy that the fateful night had secured a spot in my all time 5 worst Boston sports nightmares. Although it may have been bumped to 6 after February 3rd of 2008. But when it's all said and done it could end up in the top 10 of all time best Boston sports moments. If they had secured #1 or #2 they certainly would be in a rebuilding year this year and maybe next. Instead through a series of remarkable trades the Celtics have a real chance at raising #17. What a turnaround!

We had a a Great Easter. It was a small celebration compared to Easter 2007 (one of my favorite day's all time..I'll get to that in a moment). Yesterday we had Wendy's Mom, Dad, Auntie Jill and Uncle Eric over for Dinner. Great people! The high lite of the day was the announcement from Auntie Jill that she is pregnant (due in Oct). This was very exciting news!

I also want to take a moment to pay homage to last years Easter. I love a big family and yet I have always been part of a fairly small family. It was pretty much me,my dad, my mom, my meme and my sister growing up. As we all got older, meme passed away, mom moved to Florida, Erin moved to Key West which left me and my dad in (at the time NH). Well a few years back after dad passed away I was the only one left in these parts. I hadn't been with my actual family for a Holiday in many many years. Now I wasn't alone either. Over the past 7-8 years I have had Wendy and spent most Holidays with her awesome family and of course by now I had a family of my own. The closest blood relative I had was my sister who had gotten married and moved to Philadelphia and had a family of her own. So every couple of months either she drove up to Maine to see us or we went to Philly. It was a lot of driving with some memorable road trips.
BUT I had an evil plan....key the evil laughter....how could I convince Erin to up-root her family from Philly and move to Maine and do the same for my mother in Florida. Well, turns out it was pretty easy. I didn't have to do much other than move to Maine. After so many trips from Philly to Maine the Moore family finally figured out that there is no better place to live than Maine. The land, mountains, beaches and the ticks were apparently very attractive to a family living in the suburbs of Philly.
So the Moores are now safe and sound about 5 miles away and it's great to have them so close. The final piece of the "evil" plan came into play last year when my Mom and Papa Gordo got a place in York ME (the next town over where they reside during Red Sox Season). They are just far enough away to avoid the screams of the 8 grand children and just close enough to the beach to attract all 8 grandchildren to their home on warm sunny days.
So this brings me to last Easter. I consider it the crowning achievement of my sinister plan. Last Easter we had the largest family gathering I have ever been part of. Just about the entire family was there ON EASTER! mhuuu ha ha ha h ha! Since then we have spent several holidays and birthdays together. Good Times!
So this morning I rise a cup of coffee in toast of last years Easter with the whole famdamily! Here is the picture from 2007:

It's 11:00 pm and I'm sitting here watching yet another round of HGTV. I've watched way too much HGTV since having Beckett. I think I like "House Hunters" the best - it's always fun to guess which house the prospective buyers are going to pick. I think I'm right about 60% of the time.
Anyway, Beckett and I both have colds! It stinks to be tired and have a cold on top of that. Luckily my mom is coming up for the day tomorrow which means I can get caught up on the 80 loads of laundry that need to be done. Laundry is the worst! It's my least favorite chore of all! At least with dishes you can get paper plates and just throw them away. I think we should come up with paper clothing - wear it once and then toss it. I know it doesn't sound eco-friendly, but perhaps we can come up with a nice recycled pant suit or something - ?. The problem with laundry is that there are just too many steps - sort (darks, whites, colors), then wash, then put it into dryer, then fold (and iron if necessary) and then put away. Sounds simple but it's really not. It's just an endless cycle - perhaps the nudists have it right.
Beckett just let out a huge fart. Just like his old man.
Anyone else sick of playing "dodge the pot holes?" It's bad this time of year. Although I will say, when I have Beckett in the car, pot holes keep him quiet. I may be ruining my front axle, but it keeps my baby from crying.
Will was going the bathroom the other day (#2). He yelled out to me, "MOMMY, COME LOOK AT THIS BEAUTY!!" Just like his old man.
Okay, time for bed.

I was looking for a picture on my sisters blog and found this little post.
I don't know how I missed it when it was originally posted but I must say I am devastated by this news. This would explain why my sister is so different than me. We are so different yet so alike all at the same time. We don't agree on Religion or Politics. She is Right and I am Left. I vote Erin most likely to cause a scene anywhere she goes whereas I try to fly below the radar at all costs. I remember I went to the mall with her many many years ago and she was not happy about the service she was getting from the clerk at the counter. My sister demanded that she talk to the manager, the clerk replied "I am the manager". I can't tell you what happened after that because I hightailed it out of the store. I can tell you I have never been to the mall with her since!
When we were young and we would go out to eat her food was N-E-V-E-R done right whereas I have eaten bad food before as to not cause a scene (that and I am convinced that if you send you food back the people in the kitchen do unholy things to it-once it's been delivered the food never leaves my sight!). How are we alike? She introduced me to Wendy, her best friend and my wife. Her husband Jermaine is one of my best friends, so we seem to like the same kind of people. We both love living in Maine and spending time with each others family's. So are we really all that different?

1:30 PM UPDATE-Crisis resolved. Now Big Papi can bring me back some fresh Sushi.
9:00 am As of this moment the Sox season opener in Japan is not going to happen. The Sox players just voted to Boycott the trip in support of some of the coaches who were not getting paid for the trip. The trip CAN still happen if the coaches get paid. In all honesty I don't view this gesture as honorable as you may think. Something tells me they are looking for any excuse not to go. I am guessing if they don't go they will forfeit the 2 games. More on the story @ Boston.com.

Interesting post from Melissa at Mainelife on some gas pumping techniques. Every little bit helps as we grow closer to $4.00/Gallon. On a side note for us Mainers also check out her link about the stolen credit card digits over at Hannafords.

And finally....the trap! This is our Leprechaun trap. We set one every year hoping to catch a Leprechaun the night before St. Patrick's Day. How can he resist the Hershey Kiss trail leading him to certain capture? We haven't caught the little bugger yet. He is not happy when we set the trap- Last year he flipped our couch and made a mess. If we don't catch him this year we may have to set up a hidden camera.

Just a quick note about some of my recent posts. When I type "Live From" in the title of a post it actually means I am posting live from that very spot. I can access typepad from my iPhone. The post below was done from the waiting room at the rehearsal. They usually run late so I had some time to kill.

I took this picture of Joelle through the "peak hole" with my iPhone. The rehearsals are top secret. Ssshhhh don't mention you ever saw this or you may go missing A LA the area 51 witnesses.
I also snapped a shot of this unsuspecting dad. This gives you a better view of the peephole. This guy bogart's the peephole most of the time.

Great article in the globe about the "other" Sean Casey. The one who spells his name wrong. Read it here

I was going through my iPhoto library in an effort to delete some pictures. I have a bad habit of keeping every photo we've ever taken even if there are 10 of the same. My HD is getting very full. I came across a bunch of pictures I wanted to share. These pictures are of various family members holding Beckett. Sadly of the thousands of pictures I have I don't have any pictures of the "little guy" with his mom and dad. I'll work on that.
Beckett with his cousin Avery
Beckett with Ms. Sylvia and Ariel
Beckett with Auntie Erin
Beckett with Uncle Jermaine aka. Dirt

This was an idea posted in a 1936 issue of Popular Mechanics. Apparently in 1936 cars didn't get side swiped.
