The girls recently received their report cards for the
second quarter of the school year. I’m
glad to report they are continuing on their path of being great students. Wouldn’t it be weird if we, as parents,
received report cards? What if we were
graded on our ability to teach/have:
- Patience
- Creativity
- Meal Time
- Family Time
- Exercise
- Hygiene
- Organization
- Effort
Thankfully we don’t have to worry about that because I am
already hard on myself for some, if not most, of these issues. I can see the comments of my “report card”
saying something like, “Wendy continues to improve on making healthy food
choices for her family, but could work on spending more time reading with Will
and less time on the computer.” Since
our parenting skills are not monitored (unless you have DSS on your case and
that’s a whole different story), perhaps it’s not a bad idea to reflect every “quarter”
on how we are doing as parents and assess our strengths and weaknesses and make
adjustments as needed. Our kids are
certainly worth it.

I love this! Though it would ruin my perfect 4.0

Remember - perfectionism is the highest order of self abuse!

Can you add the subject "fun"? That may be the only one I pass.

...then perhaps your name should be "Mr. Fun", rather than "Mr. idea"?

You kids are all a+ parents, so don't be so hard on yourselves!
