I was going through some
photo albums looking for pictures of Shaun and I as a baby. I came across
his baby album and among the
baby teeth, lock of hair and school projects I
found this treasure of a thank-you card:
6/24/77
Dear Mrs. Casey,
Thank you so much for being so thoughtful. I love musk! I shall
miss Shaun very much. He has everything going for him - talent, looks,
personality and a nice, mannered boy. Keep being concerned about him - he
has lot to offer a class.
Thank you again,
Elanor Clark
Musk? Classic!

"Talent, Looks, Personality".....Not much has changed since the 2nd grade. (other than the gut, a double chin and a receding hair line)

Your being too hard on yourself, Shaun. Really, not much has changed except 4 kids, a wife, house, and the dog and cat. Take the context of Mrs. Clark's note and put it into the work enviroment and it would practically read the same! In fact, I believe you have letters hanging around that say just about the same thing. I was proud of you then and I'm still very proud of you. Sounds like this post is coming from your mother......Oh!...IT IS!

Musk? How did that scent ever get popular? The name alone...."Musk-rat"? Is musk, musty?
Ewwww...

Mom, did you get my male teachers a bottle of old spice?
Posted by: K-Sea | February 25, 2008 at 09:56 PM
NOOOOOOOOOOO! Old Spice was in my father's era. Probably bought them........wait, did you have any male teachers in grades 1 through 6?
Musk was a little like lavender.

I think Musk probably smells like a ferret.......

WAIT-It gets better: from wiki:Musk is the name originally given to a substance with a penetrating odor obtained from a gland of the male musk deer, which is situated between its stomach and genitals. The substance has been used as a popular perfume fixative since ancient times and is one of the most expensive animal products in the world. The name, originated from Sanskrit muṣká meaning "testicle" (as in a 'single' testicle), has come to encompass a wide variety of substances with somewhat similar odors although many of them are quite different in their chemical structures. They include glandular secretions from animals other than the musk deer, numerous plants emitting similar fragrances, and artificial substances with similar odors.[1]

The kicker:
